Reasons to believe in the power of the Bible
Rhesymau i gredu ym mhŵer y Beibl
'I’m a locum doctor in a hospital in Nottingham. At the moment, I’m on a gastro-enterology ward, but I was on the palliative care ward with patients with Covid-19.
'The scripture that’s really helped me recently, is Colossians 3.23-24, ‘Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.’
'This whole Covid-19 issue has made me realise that we serve Jesus. It’s easy to serve man. Sometimes people clap for you. Sometimes they are wary of you because you work in a Covid ward. There are real issues of confusion and stigma around coronavirus, and in being associated with working with people with Covid-19. I’ve never experienced that before. But God is the constant in all of this.
'God is challenging me about where I get my identity from. On a Thursday, people clap and whoop me on our street. It’s nice, but it’s for a season.
'Everything is unsettled, and you can feel very shaky, but I’m so glad that the Bible is solid ground to stand on in these tumultuous times.'
'Rwy'n feddyg locwm mewn ysbyty yn Nottingham. Ar hyn o bryd, rydw i ar ward gastro-enteroleg, ond roeddwn i ar y ward gofal lliniarol gyda chleifion â Covid-19.
'Yr ysgrythur sydd wedi fy helpu yn ddiweddar, yw Colosiaid 3.23-24, 'Gwnewch eich gorau glas bob amser, fel tasech chi'n gweithio i'r Arglwydd ei hun, a dim i feistri dynol. Byddwch chi'n derbyn eich gwobr gan yr Arglwydd. Y Meseia ydy'r meistr dych chi'n ei wasanaethu go iawn.’
'Mae'r holl fater Covid-19 hwn wedi gwneud i mi sylweddoli ein bod ni'n gwasanaethu Iesu. Mae'n hawdd gwasanaethu dyn. Weithiau bydd pobl yn clapio i chi. Weithiau maen nhw'n wyliadwrus ohonoch chi oherwydd eich bod chi'n gweithio mewn ward Covid. Mae yna faterion gwirioneddol o ddryswch a stigma ynghylch coronafeirws, ac wrth fod yn gysylltiedig â gweithio gyda phobl â Covid-19. Dwi erioed wedi profi hynny o'r blaen. Ond Duw yw'r peth cyson yn hyn i gyd.
'Mae Duw yn fy herio ynglŷn â lle dwi'n cael fy hunaniaeth. Ar ddydd Iau, mae pobl yn clapio ac yn gweiddi hwrê ar ein stryd. Mae'n braf, ond am dymor mae hyn.
'Mae popeth yn ansefydlog, a gallwch chi deimlo'n sigledig iawn, ond rydw i mor falch bod y Beibl yn dir cadarn i sefyll arno yn yr amseroedd cythryblus hyn.’
