The Map and the Mountain

Discover life’s greatest adventure.

The Map and the Mountain, presented by Andrew Ollerton, is a 12-minute film that explores the Christian faith in the setting of the great outdoors.

Why not invite some friends over for a drink or meal and watch the film together? It could be the beginning of a great conversation.

Suggested discussion questions

  • What’s the greatest adventure you’ve ever had? What made it special?
  • What did you think of the film generally?
  • There’s a big difference between looking at a map and climbing a mountain. Does the Christian faith feel more like a moral map or an exciting mountain to you? Why?
  • The film mentions four big themes from the Bible. Which do you find most compelling? Which do you find most challenging?
Creation: God made a beautiful world for us to enjoy (Romans 1.20)

Sin: things are broken and we can’t fix them ourselves (Romans 3.23)
    - Jesus: he died on the cross so we could be forgiven (Romans 5.8)
    - Hope: God’s got a plan to renew the whole world (Romans 8.18)

  • Could you ever imagine experiencing the Christian faith as an exciting adventure?
