My Bible: reasons to believe in the power of the Bible
‘When I was a child, I was always in agony moving and walking. I was always ill. Everyone thought I was a hypochondriac.
Then, about 10 years ago, I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. It’s a genetic disorder. It was a relief to have a name for it. But still, it was appalling news.
I read Jeremiah 29:11, “'For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.’” That was perfect. It made me feel warm-glowy and fluffy.
I take that verse with me everywhere. I’ve got it on bookmarks. Thereafter, when I felt low, it’s given me strength.'
