Philanthropy

Bible work is at risk in 88 nations as a direct result of the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. A Rescue and Recovery Fund has been launched to ensure that otherwise well run Bible Societies both survive the pandemic and go on to flourish in the future.

Bible Society exists to make the Bible available, accessible and credible. We are passionate advocates of God’s Word and everything we do is about releasing the Scriptures into people’s lives. Our vision is for the Bible’s God-given revelation, inspiration and wisdom to be at work in every home and every heart.

Yet God’s Word is unavailable in some cultures, and is being aggressively excluded and undermined in others. Supporters are the lifeblood of Bible Society and we join with you and the whole body of Christ, in prayer, in faith, in deed – that this might be overcome to the glory of God.

The project snapshots below illustrate some of the ways in which we are doing this according to our six key approaches. Please take a look at some of these. Our aim is to connect you to Bible Society’s work in line with your own interests and passions. If you’d like to know more about any of these projects or others like them do please get in touch with the Key Relationships Team at any time. We would love to hear from you.  krt@biblesociety.org.uk  TEL: 01793 418267

In the Middle East

In the Middle East

The Church is under pressure from religious extremism and many Christians face persecution and displacement. The hope of Scripture is needed now more than ever.

In Africa

In Africa

A growing Church exists in an often precarious social and political context, where many are looking to find refuge in the word of God.

In China

In China

A rapidly growing Church in a country of global importance needs access to the Bible, well-trained church leaders and an environment that will support continued growth.

At home

On the one hand, Bible engagement in England and Wales is dropping. Bible ownership is falling and the Bible is associated with the declining religious beliefs of previous generations.

Yet, on the other hand, there is an increased appetite for spiritual experience and a sense that the Bible has something to offer contemporary questions and challenges.

In this context we believe there is a tremendous opportunity to help people to recognise the Bible’s value for them, their families and communities – even for society as a whole. Your partnership can significantly support the work of bringing the Bible to life here at home.

England and Wales

England and Wales

Against a backdrop of widespread Bible indifference, we’re working across society to help adults and children recognise the value of the Bible.

Our commitment to you

We know the value of significant gifts and are committed to ensuring they are used where the impact will be greatest.

Our commitment to you is that we will:

  • Assign a member of our team to personally manage your gift.
  • Send you regular updates about the impact of your gift.
  • Invite you to meet key staff at home and overseas.
  • Invite you to special events, such as the National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast.
  • Arrange project visits so you can meet the people you’re helping and experience the difference you’re making first-hand.

Let’s do something amazing together: connect people to the word of God, at home and across the world. Please contact a member of our Key Relationships team by emailing us or phoning 01793 418267 to explore this further.
