My Bible: reasons to believe in the power of the Bible
‘We have 13 grandchildren. The oldest is 22 and the youngest is four. When we got a boat for holidays they all wanted us to use their initials to make a name for the boat. That didn’t work.
I thought it should be Proverbs 17.6, ‘Children’s children are a crown to the aged and parents are the pride of their children’. In some translations it says “diadem” instead of crown. So our boat is called My Diadem.
The name of the boat is a talking point. Passers-by chat to me about it. We’ve been listening to the Bible In A Year with David Suchet, though the wifi isn’t very good, so not every day.
I’ve learned a lot about God’s grace this year. It’s given freely. It made me wonder what I should do. I felt I should talk to people about God’s message. So I hand out little cards saying “Free Gift” which talk about God’s love and I’m praying for the lock keepers. All the lock keepers know who we are.'
