Colossae

An ancient city in Asia Minor (modern Turkey). Known particularly for its trade in wool. The recipients of the letter to the Colossians, a letter which bears many similarities to the letter to the nearby Ephesians. The Colossians are also instructed to share their letter with the Laodiceans, and the Laodiceans, in their turn, will share their letter with the Colossians. Unfortunately this letter no longer exists.
