In September last year, Angela, the OtB Global Lead, trained five Lusophone countries and equipped them with the tools to implement OtB in their local context. Thanks to the contributions from the membership scheme, OtB is already flourishing in Sao Tome and Principe, an island nation off the coast of West Africa and the second smallest economy in Africa. Along with distributing clothes to children living in deep poverty, distributing Bibles in prisons, and leading a Bible Seminar to equip local pastors, the Bible Society of Sao Tome and Principe has now taken OtB to 500 children in schools and kindergartens.
The new Storytelling Bible is being used across the globe to reach children in the most remote places with the good news of Jesus. Please do continue to hold our global storytelling community in your prayers so that they can keep bringing the stories of the Bible to life for children everywhere.

One of the things that I love about Open the Book is that it is suitable for a variety of people to get involved with. Whatever age or stage of faith you may consider yourself, there are so many ways you can be involved, from acting out the stories to prayer support and prop making.
For many people, their role as Open the Book Storytellers has grown with them over the years. Lots of the Storytellers I meet in training sessions have been storytelling almost as long as the programme has been running. There have been many changes during this time, including the new programme, which is having such an impact globally.
But one thing that hasn’t changed is what an important mission sharing Bible stories with children is and what a wonderful, well received resource Open the Book is for achieving that mission. One of our Storytellers, Kathyrn Hill, was recently interviewed about her life.
