Trachonitis

A large lava field in what is now southern Syria, east of the Jordan. In the Old Testament it was called Argob. It is a rocky wilderness but Deuteronomy states that there were 60 walled cities in it which were conquered by the Israelites and became the territory of the tribe of Manasseh. It is now called Lajat.
