Tithe

A system of taxation in the Old Testament. The tithe system was organised in a three-year cycle and used to support the Levites (who had no land apportioned to them) and the poor. The rules were complex and involved tithes that could only be consumed inside the Tabernacle or Temple as well as those that could be consumed outside it.
