Sosthenes

Chief ruler of the synagogue in Corinth who, according to Acts 18.12-17, was beaten by the mob when he refused to take action against Paul. It is probable that he is also the Sosthenes mentioned in 1 Corinthians 1.1-2 as our brother, suggesting that after the incident in Acts he became a Christian.
