Moab

The name of the country that lay along the eastern shore of the Dead Sea. Genesis 19.37-38 claims that Moab was a son of Lot and the Moabites were, therefore, Lot's descendants. As near neighbours of Israel they were particular enemies and mentioned in numerous conflicts with Israel throughout the Old Testament.
