Gallio

Lucius Junius Gallio Annaeanus, a Roman senator and brother of the famous writer Seneca. He was proconsul of the Roman province of Achaea between AD 51-52 but had to resign the post due to ill health. He was, however, present in Achaea in Acts 18.12-17 allowing us to date that episode in Paul's life with relative certainty.
