Asherah

A Canaanite fertility goddess who was sometimes worshipped in Israel and who was often depicted with a tree trunk or cone of stone erected in high places. King Asa in 1 Kings 15.13 cut down a symbol of Asherah made by his mother and King Manasseh erected one in the temple itself (2 Kings 21.3).
