Psalm 23 Garden opens to public at hospice

Bereaved families and friends joined local residents at the first open day of the Psalm 23 Garden at Winchester Hospice recently.

The garden was re-created to fit the space around Winchester Hospice over the winter, and this was the first time that non-residents could visit it.

Project manager Hazel Southam said, ‘It was wonderful to hear how much the garden had meant to patients at the hospice, and to see how important it also is for staff on their breaks.’

She added, ‘The hospice is next to a busy road, the hospital and a pub. Yet the garden made it feel like a tranquil and relaxing place to be. We are so delighted to have been able to give this garden to Winchester Hospice.’
