Like everyone else, Bible Society is deeply aware of how serious the coronavirus situation is. When we're facing challenges, whether it's close to home or out in the world on an unimaginable scale, it can be hard to pray. But it helps a lot knowing that so many people are praying along with us.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4.6–7 (ESV)
Lord, thank you for your promise in Scripture that you will never leave or forsake us. Help us to trust you in these dark times, and to remember that we serve Christ, the light of the world.
Help us honour you by being a blessing to others, being patient, kind and useful. Strengthen those who care for the sick or have great demands placed on them, and equip people in power so they act wisely to bring this outbreak to an end.
In Jesus' name we pray.
