Appeals for prayer have come from Bible Society staff in Turkey and Syria as the death toll from the earthquakes passes 35,000.

Prayer is ‘the best you can do for us,’ said George, our colleague in Syria. ‘Thanks for praying.’

They have asked that we pray for the provision of temporary warm shelters for survivors of the quakes, for the families of those who have lost their lives, those who cannot return to shattered homes, and those who don’t yet know what happened to their loved ones.

The call for prayer comes as Bible Societies from both countries try to provide holistic support for those around them, including Bibles.
