Bible Society is committed to ensuring every prisoner in England Wales has a chance to engage with and be changed by the Bible, in whichever language they need it in.
To do this Bible Society helps prisoners and prison chaplains to acquire the Scriptures and Bible-based resources, for free.
In 2017/18 alone Bible Society gave 3,345 Bibles and engagement resources to 38 prisons in England and Wales, in 23 different languages, completely free, including 2,592 English language Bibles.
All of Bible Society’s Bibles and Bible-based resources are available free of charge to prison chaplaincies across England and Wales. This includes the brand new Matthew: A Message of Mercy, launched this year and written in partnership with prison chaplains.
