Psalm 23.5 says, ‘You prepare a banquet before me, where all my enemies can see me’.
The pandemic has been an enemy to all of us, as we have faced illness, bereavement, isolation, and financial hardship.
In the spirit of that verse, Bible Society – working with Christians Against Poverty and Welcome Churches – is encouraging you and your church to host meals…in the presence of these enemies.
We would like you to do this in a Covid-safe way, and there are two lovely options to choose from. First, you could lay on a meal in your well-ventilated church building, or outside it when the weather is suitable. You can invite those in your community who have really suffered to attend. Or, you might want to invite a few people to your house, or garden.
However you hold this meal, you can make it special in your own way. Your guests will be able to encounter the love of God through this beautiful psalm.

We would love to hear how your meal went. Send your story and pictures to hazel.southam@biblesociety.org.uk.
