We are joining forces with Welcome Churches across the UK to provide Bible-based trauma resources and free Bibles for Ukrainian refugees.
The move comes as some 100,000 British people have offered to host Ukrainian refugees in their homes.
We will be working to ensure that any refugee who needs to can have a free copy of Beyond Disaster, an emergency booklet enabling those fleeing war to start thinking through their trauma, and a free copy of the Bible in either Ukrainian or Russian.
Over the coming weeks, we will be printing thousands of copies and working with Welcome Church’s extensive network of 800 churches to see them distributed.
Harry Fenner Crawley, community engagement manager, said, ‘We are doing this because we want to help people address the wounds of their heart through the powerful lens of Scripture.
‘We are hoping that it will achieve healing in its broadest sense, and give people tools of empowerment to address their own heart wounds.’
It is hoped that, over the coming years, churches will also enrol for training in Navigating Trauma, a Scripture-based trauma healing course.
‘This is an excellent way that churches and individuals can do something for the long term,’ said Harry. ‘Navigating Trauma is a powerful way to allow God to deal with the heart wounds of trauma.’
