Reasons to believe in the power of the Bible
Rhesymau i gredu ym mhŵer y Beibl
'When I was six or seven years old, I used to like staying with my great aunt. She had an embroidery on the wall, decorated with lovely roses, lilies and anemones. It was 1 Peter 5.7, ‘Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you’. I’m a very visual person. I learn by looking. As I child, I always believed what that verse said.
'Some of my friends don’t know how to read the Bible on their own. So, during lockdown, I thought I would do an online Bible study. I started with 1 Peter. Jesus told Peter to feed his sheep and I thought I would do the same. I thought it would be a good book to look at.
'I did a small video every day for a couple of weeks. I wanted to encourage people, because I have always found the Bible to be an amazing source of comfort and I wanted other people to know how to access that and not to be scared of accessing it. I’ve had really good feedback. People have found it encouraging.
'This book has a golden thread of hope in suffering, running through it. That verse gives me real peace. All this coronavirus thing doesn’t worry me, because I trust in God that he’s with me.'
'Pan oeddwn i'n chwech neu saith oed, roeddwn i'n arfer hoffi aros gyda fy hen fodryb. Roedd ganddi frodwaith ar y wal, wedi'i addurno â rhosod, lilis a blodau’r gwynt hyfryd. Geiriau 1 Pedr 5.7 oedd arno, ‘Bwriwch eich holl bryder arno ef, oherwydd y mae gofal ganddo amdanoch’. Rwy'n berson gweledol iawn. Rwy'n dysgu trwy edrych. Pan oeddwn yn blentyn, roeddwn bob amser yn credu'r hyn a ddywedodd yr adnod honno.
Nid yw rhai o fy ffrindiau yn gwybod sut i ddarllen y Beibl ar eu pennau eu hunain. Felly, yn ystod y cloi, roeddwn i'n meddwl y byddwn i'n gwneud astudiaeth Feiblaidd ar-lein. Dechreuais gydag 1 Peter. Dywedodd Iesu wrth Pedr am fwydo ei ddefaid ac roeddwn i'n meddwl y byddwn i'n gwneud yr un peth. Meddyliais y byddai'n llyfr da i edrych arno.
Fe wnes i fideo bach bob dydd am gwpl o wythnosau. Roeddwn i am annog pobl, oherwydd rydw i bob amser wedi cael y Beibl yn ffynhonnell gysur rhyfeddol ac roeddwn am i bobl eraill wybod sut i gael gafael ar hynny a pheidio â bod ofn mynd ato. Rwyf wedi derbyn ymateb da iawn. Mae pobl wedi ei gael yn galonogol.
Mae i’r llyfr hwn edau euraidd o obaith mewn dioddefaint yn rhedeg trwyddo. Mae'r adnod honno’n rhoi heddwch go iawn i mi. Nid yw hyn oll yn fy mhoeni, oherwydd rwy’n ymddiried yn Nuw ei fod gyda mi'.
