My Bible: reasons to believe in the power of the Bible
‘Psalm 93 has been particularly helpful to me. I was in Nigeria in 2013 and my brother, who is diabetic, fell into a coma. We didn’t know he was diabetic. He collapsed at home. He was paralysed, like he’d had a stroke.
‘We took him to hospital. I felt the Holy Spirit say that I should read Psalm 93 seven times. I read it. My daughter read it. My husband read it. I got seven people to read it.
‘It says, “The Lord reigneth. He is clothed with majesty. The Lord is clothed with strength.” It reminded me of God’s power. We were born Muslim, but we have given our lives to Christ. But in that moment, I thought I might lose him. He’s a tall, big man, and it looked like he’d had a stroke. I was crying. I was out of my mind with worry.
‘I had never read Psalm 93 before. But it meant that I was praising God. That helped. My brother was in that coma for 20-30 minutes. But he came out of it. It’s good to praise God.’
