Reasons to believe in the power of the Bible

‘My favourite verses are Matthew 9.35–36. It says that Jesus went everywhere through the cities and villages, and he talked about the Kingdom of God and he had compassion on people, and healed all their sicknesses and diseases. If I had to describe Jesus, this is the verse for me. He is the God of compassion and love.
‘I'm from Iran, from a Muslim background. I came to Christ through dreams and visions. When I was seeking God I wanted to know why there are so many religions and which one was from God. I had a dream about Jesus. The first time, I ignored it, I thought, that's just a dream. But I kept seeking God and I wanted to know the truth.
‘I went to my local church and I said, “I want to know more about God, do you have any classes?” and they gave me a Bible. They said, “Read this book and ask God to talk to you through this book, and you will know more about Jesus.”
‘When I became a Christian I didn't want to tell my mother, but I felt God saying, “Tell her. Don't you love her, don't you want her to be saved?” She was crying for a few days and she tried to change my mind. Then she called me and said she'd had a dream. She saw a man sitting on a throne dressed as a king and he said, “Don't worry about your daughter, I'll look after her.” My mother said, “Who are you?” and he said, “I am Jesus.” She called me and said, “Follow God, go to church, follow Jesus, I'm not worried about you any more.”
‘God has been so faithful to me, even when I experienced a life-threatening illness. My condition was so bad that the doctors didn't give me much hope. It affected my eyesight; I said, “God, if I can't see I can't read your Bible,” because I knew that without the Bible I couldn't cope through that difficult time. Immediately God said, “Keep your eyes on me.” I had treatment and in the first treatment God healed my eyesight, and my eyesight is even better than before.
‘I have really experienced God's presence, goodness and healing power – his compassion.’
‘Fy hoff adnodau yw Mathew 9.35–36. Mae’n dweud bod Iesu’n mynd trwy’r dinasoedd a’r pentrefi, yn sôn am Deyrnas Dduw, yn tosturio wrth bobl, ac yn iacháu eu holl afiechydon a’u clefydau. Pe bai'n rhaid i mi ddisgrifio Iesu, dyma'r adnod i mi. Ef yw Duw tosturi a chariad.
‘Rwy’n dod o Iran, o gefndir Moslemaidd. Dois i at Grist trwy freuddwydion a gweledigaethau. Pan oeddwn i'n ceisio Duw roeddwn i eisiau gwybod pam bod cymaint o grefyddau a pha un oedd o Dduw. Cefais freuddwyd am Iesu. Y tro cyntaf, fe wnes i ei anwybyddu, meddyliais mai dim ond breuddwyd ydoedd. Ond roeddwn i'n dal i geisio Duw ac roeddwn i eisiau gwybod y gwir.
‘Es i’r eglwys leol a dywedais, “Rydw i eisiau gwybod mwy am Dduw, a oes gennych chi unrhyw ddosbarthiadau?” a rhoesant Feibl i mi. Dywedon nhw, “Darllen y llyfr hwn a gofyn i Dduw siarad â thi trwy'r llyfr hwn, a byddi di'n gwybod mwy am Iesu.”
‘Pan ddois i’n Gristion doeddwn i ddim eisiau dweud wrth fy mam, ond teimlais fod Duw’n dweud, “Dywed wrthi. Onid wyt yn ei charu, onid wyt am iddi gael ei hachub?" Roedd hi'n crïo am rai dyddiau a cheisiodd newid fy meddwl. Yna galwodd fi a dweud ei bod wedi cael breuddwyd. Gwelodd hi ddyn yn eistedd ar orsedd wedi ei wisgo fel brenin a dywedodd, “Paid â phoeni am dy ferch, byddaf yn gofalu amdani.” Dywedodd fy mam, "Pwy wyt ti?" a dywedodd, "Iesu wyf fi." Galwodd hi arnaf a dweud, “Dilyn Dduw, dos i'r eglwys, dilyn Iesu, dw i ddim yn poeni amdanat mwyach.”
‘Mae Duw wedi bod mor ffyddlon i mi, hyd yn oed pan brofais salwch sy’n fygythiol i fywyd. Roedd fy nghyflwr mor ddrwg fel na roddodd y meddygon fawr o obaith i mi. Effeithiodd ar fy ngolwg; Dywedais, “Duw, os na allaf weld ni allaf ddarllen dy Feibl,” oherwydd roeddwn i’n gwybod na allwn i ymdopi trwy’r amser anodd hwnnw heb y Beibl. Ar unwaith dywedodd Duw, "Cadw dy lygaid arnaf." Cefais driniaeth ac yn y driniaeth gyntaf iachaodd Duw fy ngolwg, ac mae fy ngolwg hyd yn oed yn well nag o'r blaen.
‘Rwyf wir wedi profi presenoldeb Duw, ei ddaioni a’i allu iachaol – ei dosturi.’
