Reasons to believe in the power of the Bible

‘I’ve written for years. I’m writing my second book. My dream is to get the book out there for people to read. I love my characters and they are part of my life, and I find it exciting finding out what’s going to happen.
‘But, I’ve only sold 140 books. That’s a struggle. The people who read it, love it. But, I haven’t sold a book for three months, so why am I bothering to write a second one?
‘The verse that keeps me going is 1 Timothy 4.14, “Don’t neglect the gift that was in you”. So, I get up every morning and believe that God told me to do this, and to trust him. It says to me, “keep pushing, keep writing, keep going”.
‘Day to day it means that I get up in the morning and I write. It’s as simple as that. I wouldn’t even call it obedience. It’s more pragmatic than that. What else would I do if I didn’t write? I’m a writer, and I know that my writing is better now than it was. Writing is the one thing that I know that I can do, and do well. That’s what’s inside me. That’s what feeds me. So, it’s a very encouraging verse.’

‘Ond, dwi ddim ond wedi gwerthu 140 o lyfrau. Mae hynny'n frwydr. Mae'r bobl sy'n ei ddarllen wrth eu boddau. Ond, nid wyf wedi gwerthu llyfr ers tri mis, felly pam ydw i'n trafferthu ysgrifennu ail un?
‘Yr adnod sy'n fy nghadw i fynd yw 1 Timotheus 4.14, “Paid ag esgeuluso'r ddawn sydd ynot”. Felly, dwi'n codi bob bore ac yn credu bod Duw wedi dweud wrthyf am wneud hyn, ac ymddiried ynddo. Mae'n dweud wrthyf, “dal ati i wthio, dal ati i ysgrifennu, dal ati”.
‘O ddydd i ddydd mae’n golygu fy mod yn codi yn y bore ac yn ysgrifennu. Mae mor syml â hynny. Ni fyddwn hyd yn oed yn ei alw'n ufudd-dod. Mae'n fwy pragmatig na hynny. Beth arall fyddwn i'n ei wneud pe na bawn i'n ysgrifennu? Rwy'n awdur, a gwn fod fy ysgrifennu yn well nawr nag y bu. Ysgrifennu yw'r un peth y gwn y gallaf ei wneud, a’i wneud yn dda. Dyna beth sydd y tu mewn i mi. Dyna sy'n fy mwydo. Felly, mae’n adnod galonogol iawn.’
