My Bible: reasons to believe in the power of the Bible
'I’m in the Army. At the end of my tour of duty, I came to Ghana to see my family. I was full of lots of vigour and joy. I was due to fly back on 3 April. Then the pandemic came and I couldn’t return. The next available flight is in July.
'I got worried and frustrated, especially for my work, because no-one is covering my work at the moment. It’s been very difficult. That sits on my mind and I get worried, seriously, about it. I know the pressure that the job comes with. I know I will be working late and getting up early to catch up.
'I have been connecting very well with the Lord during these tough times. I watched a movie about Hezekiah and then read Isaiah 37. I realised that God has everything under control regardless of whatever situation you are in, regardless of the storm. I think God knows where I am. I’m sure something good will come out of this. It’s been difficult being away from work, but this passage in Isaiah gave me a sense of peace. I was worried, to be honest, panicking. But when I read this passage, I knew I could have faith in the Lord.'
