My Bible: reasons to believe in the power of the Bible
‘I was cleaning my house and I kept hearing the word “Deuteronomy” in my head. I was wondering what that meant. Mostly, I use the internet to find things out. I found a video on YouTube that takes you through Deuteronomy and how God is cleansing us. I’m a visual person and it’s easier for me to digest that than reading.
‘It felt to me as if the pandemic is making us reflect on what's important. It’s not important to have these materialistic things and the shops open all the time. We thought these things were important, but now we can see that being kind to each other and spending time with people we love, having quality time together, that’s what’s important.
‘Before the pandemic I was very busy. I work full time. I ferry my son around to different football things and I volunteer at church, and I’m on my son’s PTA. I’m a doer. But the pandemic forced me to stop and think. It made me see that spending quality time with the people I love is the most important thing. But the people I love are really far away. I want to go back home to see my sisters and my Dad. So, we are hoping to move. So, I had a message about cleansing when I was cleaning! That moment could change my life.
‘I saw my sisters when things started to ease. But I haven’t seen my Dad for over a year and that’s been really hard.’
