Reasons to believe in the power of the Bible
Rhesymau i gredu ym mhŵer y Beibl
‘I was cleaning my house and I kept hearing the word “Deuteronomy” in my head. I was wondering what that meant. Mostly, I use the internet to find things out. I found a video on YouTube that takes you through Deuteronomy and how God is cleansing us. I’m a visual person and it’s easier for me to digest that than reading.
‘It felt to me as if the pandemic is making us reflect on what's important. It’s not important to have these materialistic things and the shops open all the time. We thought these things were important, but now we can see that being kind to each other and spending time with people we love, having quality time together, that’s what’s important.
‘Before the pandemic I was very busy. I work full time. I ferry my son around to different football things and I volunteer at church, and I’m on my son’s PTA. I’m a doer. But the pandemic forced me to stop and think. It made me see that spending quality time with the people I love is the most important thing. But the people I love are really far away. I want to go back home to see my sisters and my Dad. So, we are hoping to move. So, I had a message about cleansing when I was cleaning! That moment could change my life.
‘I saw my sisters when things started to ease. But I haven’t seen my Dad for over a year and that’s been really hard.’
‘Roeddwn yn glanhau fy nhŷ ac roeddwn yn clywed y gair “Deuteronomium” o hyd yn fy mhen. Roeddwn i'n meddwl tybed beth oedd hynny'n ei olygu. Yn bennaf, rwy'n defnyddio'r rhyngrwyd i ddarganfod pethau. Fe wnes i ddod o hyd i fideo ar YouTube sy'n mynd â chi trwy Deuteronomium a sut mae Duw yn ein puro. Rwy'n berson gweledol ac mae'n haws imi amgyffred hynny na darllen.
‘Roedd yn teimlo i mi fel petai'r pandemig yn gwneud inni fyfyrio ar yr hyn sy'n bwysig. Nid yw'n bwysig cael y pethau materol hyn a'r siopau ar agor trwy'r amser. Roeddem yn meddwl bod y pethau hyn yn bwysig, ond nawr gallwn weld mai bod yn garedig â'n gilydd a threulio amser gyda phobl rydyn ni'n eu caru, cael amser o ansawdd gyda'n gilydd, dyna beth sy'n bwysig.
‘Cyn y pandemig roeddwn i'n brysur iawn. Rwy'n gweithio'n llawn amser. Rwy'n danfon fy mab o gwmpas i wahanol ddigwyddiadau pêl-droed ac rwy'n gwirfoddoli yn yr eglwys, ac rydw i ar Bwyllgor Rhieni ac Athrawon ysgol fy mab. Rwy'n weithredwr. Ond fe orfododd y pandemig i mi stopio a meddwl. Fe wnaeth i mi weld mai treulio amser o ansawdd gyda'r bobl rwy'n eu caru yw'r peth pwysicaf. Ond mae'r bobl rydw i'n eu caru yn bell i ffwrdd mewn gwirionedd. Rydw i eisiau mynd yn ôl adref i weld fy chwiorydd a fy Nhad. Felly, rydyn ni'n gobeithio symud. Felly, roedd gen i neges am buro pan oeddwn i'n glanhau! Gallai'r foment honno newid fy mywyd.
‘Gwelais fy chwiorydd pan ddechreuodd pethau lacio. Ond nid wyf wedi gweld fy Nhad ers dros flwyddyn ac mae hynny wedi bod yn anodd iawn.’

‘The verse that has meant the most to me is Jeremiah 29.11. It says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” When I first read that, it resonated massively but ...’ Read story

‘I’ve had many bereavements. I have lost all my sisters and my brothers. They died. My daughter died, and my husband died two years apart. I went through it. At first, I was sad. But then the sadness went. If you look at Psalm 27, it says, “The Lo...’ Read story
