Reasons to believe in the power of the Bible

'I go to the Scriptures every day. There’s a bit where Jesus stands up and says he’s come to bind up the brokenhearted and set the captives free. I base my life on that: meeting people’s needs and helping people. My husband and I have been foster parents for 20 years. We’ve fostered 38 kids and had two of our own. God has bless us so much, I want to bless other people. A lot of the kids don’t have good homes. Some come because Mum is in hospital. Some are nice stories. Others aren’t. From when I was a kid I used to say, "I will adopt children and look after them." Now, the children we have in our care were the most neglected we’ve ever had. They couldn’t walk and they couldn’t talk. Now I look at them walking and talking. These little scared kids are confident and running around. These kids are brokenhearted and if we can bring peace and normality we have achieved what we set out to achieve. Jesus is my inspiration in foster care.'
