Reasons to believe in the power of the Bible

‘During lockdown, I have become a lot closer to God. Before, I was always so busy. My great-nan used to read the Bible, but we kept it somewhere special. At Easter, I felt a lot closer to God and Jesus, so I asked my parents to get me a Bible. I wanted something that was easy to read.
‘They bought me this book of Bible stories. It feels like a story book. I like it because it’s illustrated and easy to read. I can read it to my brothers as they grow up.
‘I like reading a lot, so it’s nice to read a book like this. Yesterday, I read about Jacob and Esau. It’s quite a hard story, but it shows you that jealousy isn’t worth it. I’m also reading a bit of Twilight.
‘I’ve got a new relationship with God now. Before, we were very busy with clubs, clubs, clubs and there was no time to reflect. But now, being at home, there’s the chance to reflect on life. I feel like God is with me in the pandemic, which makes me feel comforted in a way, and safe.’
‘Yn ystod y cyfnod clo, rwyf wedi dod yn llawer agosach at Dduw. O'r blaen, roeddwn bob amser mor brysur. Roedd fy hen-nain yn arfer darllen y Beibl, ond roedden ni'n ei gadw mewn man arbennig. Adeg y Pasg, roeddwn i'n teimlo'n llawer agosach at Dduw ac Iesu, felly gofynnais i'm rhieni gael Beibl i mi. Roeddwn i eisiau rhywbeth a oedd yn hawdd ei ddarllen.
‘Fe wnaethon nhw brynu llyfr o straeon Beiblaidd i mi. Mae'n teimlo fel llyfr stori. Rwy'n ei hoffi oherwydd ei fod wedi ei ddarlunio ac mae’n hawdd ei ddarllen. Gallaf ei ddarllen i'm brodyr wrth iddynt dyfu i fyny.
‘Rwy'n hoffi darllen yn fawr, felly mae'n braf darllen llyfr fel hwn. Ddoe, darllenais am Jacob ac Esau. Mae'n stori eithaf anodd, ond mae'n dangos i chi nad yw cenfigen yn werth chweil. Rwyf hefyd yn darllen ychydig o Twilight.
‘Mae gen i berthynas newydd gyda Duw nawr. O'r blaen, roeddem yn brysur iawn gyda chlybiau, clybiau, clybiau ac nid oedd amser i fyfyrio. Ond nawr, o fod gartref, mae cyfle i fyfyrio ar fywyd. Rwy’n teimlo bod Duw gyda mi yn y pandemig, sy’n gwneud i mi deimlo’n gysurus mewn ffordd, ac yn ddiogel.’
