Rephaim

Used in two ways in the Old Testament. The Rephaim is a term used to describe all those who were gigantic in Canaan (see Genesis 14.5, Joshua 12.4, 17.15 and 1 Chronicles 20.4-6); it is also a term used completely differently to describe the shades of the departed who dwelt in Sheol, e.g. Psalm 88.10.
