Lake of Gennesaret

One of the names for the lake also known as Kinneret, the sea of Galilee, the sea of Tiberias or Lake Tiberias. A large freshwater lake in northern Israel which is about 33 miles in circumference, it is the second lowest lake in the world (after the Dead Sea). The place where Andrew, Peter, James and John were fishermen and a key location for much of Jesus' ministry: he often crossed over the lake by boat from one side to the other and a number of his miracles (like the stilling of the storm) were done on the lake.
