Korah

Refers to two different people. Korah was a son of Esau (see Genesis 36.5) but a different Korah is mentioned in Numbers 16.1-40 as someone who rebelled against Moses and attempted to take over the priesthood. The sons of Korah (or the Korahites) refers to the descendants of this second Korah who over time became doorkeepers for the Tabernacle (1 Chronicles 9.19-21) and Temple musicians. Eleven Psalms are attributed to the sons of Korah (or the Korahites).
