Galilee (sea of)

Also known as Kinneret, the Lake of Gennesaret, Lake Tiberias or the Sea of Tiberias. A large freshwater lake in northern Israel which is about 33 miles in circumference, it is the second lowest lake in the world (after the Dead Sea). The place where Andrew, Peter, James and John were fishermen and a key location for much of Jesus' ministry: he often crossed over the lake by boat from one side to the other and a number of his miracles (like the stilling of the storm) were done on the lake.
