Exile

The time when many of the inhabitants of Judah were taken away from the land into exile in Babylon. The exile began around 597 BC, with a second wave of people being taken into exile around 586 BC. Cyrus of Persia declared an end to the exile in 538 BC and while many people returned some stayed on in Persia.
