News from the Tregaron Action Group

Martha Morgan, Secretary of the Tregaron Action Group in Wales, recently told us about her group that have donated nearly £1,000 (on average) every year for many years.

Martha is in her 70s and their auditor is in her 80s but that hasn’t stopped these wonderful women of God. We think that they are a fantastic inspiration to us all and Bible Society are very thankful for their years of hard work.

Martha told us that once a year the Action Group collect financial donations from 16 chapels in their rural area. Some chapels have only four or five adults in membership, whilst the largest has about 150. Each June after lambing they hold their AGM on a Tuesday afternoon and invite representatives from each chapel to join them for tea and cakes.

Martha says ‘They pray that God will bless us all and that people will come to know the Lord Jesus Christ.’

They are hoping to appoint another chairperson this year and we pray that the faithful work will continue, to the glory of God.

There are so many Action Groups holding events this autumn and we are always keen to see photos of them for future newsletters. If you are the organiser, or just going along to a lunch, coffee morning, quiz, sponsored saunter, recital or Songs of Praise Service, please send us your photos to volunteers@biblesociety.org.uk.
