The National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast, organised by Christians in Parliament and supported by Bible Society, is an annual recognition of the contribution that Christianity makes to the national life of the UK.

The event normally takes place in the Houses of Parliament where over 700 MPs, Peers and church leaders gather to pray for our Parliament, government and politics, to build relationships between church leaders and their local MPs, and to reflect upon the relevance of the Christian faith to our public life.

This year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast will take place online again and will be livestreamed from 8 am on Friday 25 June with a selection of webinars taking place throughout the day. As the event is taking place online, it is open for everyone to attend and we would love to see you there.

Bible Society’s webinar: Re-imagining Mission | 10 am – 11 am

In the midst of all that the pandemic has brought, there are signs of hope and spiritual hunger among our communities. Many of us are feeling hopeful about the increased spiritual openness during the pandemic but also fearful about the implications of emerging from lockdown. Are we ready to embrace both the opportunity and the uncertainty of this new era that awaits us? At this key moment we need a new language to help us to discern and articulate the gospel in our new missional landscape.

That's why Bible Society is bringing together leading Christian theologians, thinkers and practitioners to address the question: how do we encourage one another in a prophetic re-imagining of mission?

Drawn from a wide range of backgrounds and traditions, contributors to our ‘Re-imagining Mission' webinar share their insights, some research findings and useful mission resources, alongside leading us in prayer and engagement in what God is doing among us. In this significant encounter, we seek to discern God’s heart, voice and activity and ask how we can partner with him in a new wave of mission across our land.

Our towns, cities and villages have been surrounded by darkness, difficulty and challenge. In this moment we have an opportunity to bring the Bible to life. Imagine inviting those who have suffered to a banquet, where we can listen to them, grieve with them and help them to recognise the Good Shepherd with them. During our webinar, we’ll be launching our Psalm 23 banquet, which will help you to engage and connect with those on the fringes of your community.

To attend our webinar, please register to attend The National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast. There you can select the Bible Society webinar and we will send you an email with joining details. Also, if you are a church leader, why not invite your local MP to watch the webinar with you? You could even host your own satellite version of the National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast for your community.
