At the information session there will be an opportunity to experience an Open the Book assembly/act of Collective Worship and to find out why Churches, Headteachers and children value it.

If you are a new group wanting to get started, want to join an existing team, or you are a Storyteller who has not been trained, then this is fun time for you! Initial training will help you begin your journey as a Storyteller with Open the Book and give you some great tips and advice. Book your places with an event near you or contact us to arrange one.

Birmingham City Mission (BCM) is facilitating a pilot scheme, whereby Open the Book are making subtle changes to their original programme in order to meet the needs of schools in urban areas working in a multi-faith context . A series of training opportunities are being made available.

These are events organised by volunteer Local Trainers and/or Storytellers who want their event publicised further afield.

This event is for existing/registered Storytellers, you’ll have an opportunity to refresh your knowledge and hear about our latest news. You’ll also be able to share your ideas with other Storytellers, have your questions answered and have fun!

A dynamic session which will help you learn new skills to help bring your stories to life. An ideal place for registered Storytellers to spend a couple of hours together with other teams to air your ideas, questions, challenges, successes and to share samples of your costumes and props.

Open the Book is organising five regional thanksgiving and celebratory services around England and Wales throughout the year which will bring us altogether in large numbers to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Our aim is to invite all those who support OtB, so we’ve chosen cathedrals and very large churches so we can all fit in!
