In eSwatini, a quarter of children have lost at least one parent. You can help meet the immense needs they face with practical and spiritual support.
In Isaiah 1.17, God instructed his people to bring justice to the fatherless and plead the cause of the widow. The Kingdom of eSwatini has the highest proportion of HIV sufferers in the world, and more than half of its children are officially classed as vulnerable. It’s a small country full of people in need of justice and someone to plead their cause.
Will you be that person? Your kindness can make a huge difference to the overlooked. Your support will meet basic needs and introduce orphans and widows to the God who sees them.
In eSwatini this year you can:
Constance’s favourite Bible verse is Hebrews 13.5: ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ She lives in a village where eight out of ten children have lost a parent, and last year her family suffered the same tragedy. Constance’s husband died and her nine children will grow up without their father.
That promise, and others in Scripture, brought Constance through the toughest times, and the state of her old Bible shows where she went, again and again, to find hope over many years.
Having struggled to clothe and feed her family while caring for her husband, Constance received shoes and emergency food from supporters of Bible Society. More than that, she now has a chicken shed that houses two hens and a cockerel, and she’s been able to learn more about growing food. This is God’s love in action.
Constance says: ‘I was in a tough situation. In the life we live, we don’t have much. But I’ve learnt to find hope in the Bible. I wish to know God more. Please pray for my children to do well in school, and for food in the garden.’
