Our team in Lebanon are supporting refugees whose lives have been shattered. One in four of the Lebanese population are now Syrian refugees. They arrive with no money and are often traumatised. But there is a real hunger for the Bible.

We desperately need more funds to provide Arabic Bibles. Can you give the Bible to a refugee today?

Yasmine’s story

Yasmine, a mother from a non-Christian background, fled Aleppo to Lebanon at the height of the bombing.

‘The day that we left,’ she recalls, ‘I was preparing food and my husband was coming home to have lunch together and a bomb dropped so close to our home that the whole house shook and the children were on the floor because they were so scared.’

Yasmine and her family arrived in Lebanon in a state of trauma: ‘I had flashbacks about my parents, and friends who have been killed,’ she told us.

But Yasmine met Bible Society staff and she received a Bible. She joined a Bible-based trauma healing course where she discovered the Scriptures. Here she came to know of God’s love for her in Christ.

‘I used to think about this and cry and hold all these issues. But now the burden in my heart and soul has gone,’ Yasmine said. ‘I am proud to know Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus changed our lives.’

‘We want to learn more about him. Without him, we are nothing.

Just £15 will provide three Bibles. Please will you give today to bring the good news to more people like Yasmine?
