Welcome to Bible Trek. We hope you are enjoying discovering the sites and experiencing the story as we trek through the Holy Lands and beyond. Our hope is that these films, along with the historical notes and reflections, will inspire your reading of the Bible.

The films offer a vlog-style experience of key locations with Bible expert Andrew Ollerton. These short pieces, filmed on location, were gathered across a couple of trips to the region and shot unscripted on an iPhone as Andrew provides a personal guide to these significant places.

The Dead Sea Series

In this collection of films, Andrew Ollerton takes us to the Dead Sea region – the lowest point on earth at 1,300 ft below sea level. In this series, we visit the Qumran Caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in 1947 as well as the caves of En Gedi where David hid from Saul. We also get to see the region from the hilltop of Masada and look out over the Jordan Rift Valley where the continents of Asia, Europe and Africa meet.

Caesarea Series

Jerusalem in the New Testament Series

Welcome to a new trek as we head back to the city of Jerusalem. In this series, Andrew takes us to the steps where Jesus and his disciples would have ascended to the temple. We visit the Pool of Siloam where Jesus healed a blind man and finally the Mount of Olives where Jesus promised to return. Enjoy this Jerusalem series and be inspired by these significant biblical locations and stories...

Nazareth Series

Welcome to our latest trek as we visit Nazareth. Today it is a bustling city in northern Israel. Back in Jesus’ day, it was a poor, insignificant hamlet with a small population – famously derided by Nathanael, who questioned: ‘Can anything good come out of Nazareth?’ (John 1.46, ESV). Yet this was the hometown of Jesus, the backwater place where he grew up and learnt the family business...

Galilee Series (Part 2)

In this trek, our guide Andrew Ollerton takes us to the location of Jesus’ teaching on the Beatitudes, and to places like Bethsaida and Chorazin where Jesus performed incredible miracles like feeding the 5,000 and healing a man from blindness. We also get to experience how Jesus and his disciples would have used the time for teaching and learning as they journeyed together to each of these locations.

Galilee Series (Part 1)

Welcome to our new series – and a new location, as we explore Galilee. As you watch this set of films, we hope you will get a real sense of the importance and significance of this special place. It was here that Jesus began his ministry as he performed miracles, healed people and taught in the synagogue. It was here that he called his first disciples, calmed the storm and walked across the water. It was from the Galilee region that Christianity would emerge and eventually spread across the world.

Jerusalem in the Old Testament Series

In this second series, we continue our trek as we take in key locations around the iconic city of Jerusalem. Join Andrew Ollerton as he shows us King David’s Palace, Hezekiah’s Tunnel and the famous walls built after the exile by Nehemiah. Discover the biblical significance of this ancient city as it relates to key stories and events from the Old Testament.
