Delivering Navigating Trauma

To deliver Navigating Trauma, your church or organisation first needs to apply to become a Navigating Trauma Partner. This helps us and you to ensure the highest standards of safeguarding. Fortunately, starting your partnership journey with Navigating Trauma couldn’t be easier.

Get started...

  1. Register your interest by completing the expression of interest form below.
  2. You’ll be invited to attend of our Regional Gatherings, which unpack how Navigating Trauma could work in your specific context and give you a taste of the materials.
  3. Formally partner with Navigating Trauma. This will require the approval of the leader of your church or organisation, the completion of a Partner Church Agreement and adherence to the Navigating Trauma Safeguarding Policy.
  4. Recommend at least two individuals from within your congregation or network to train as facilitators. You’ll need to follow safer recruiting guidance and ensure that these individuals have, as a minimum, a clear enhanced DBS check without barred list. They will also be required to agree to the Navigating Trauma Facilitator Code of Conduct.
  5. Nominated and approved trainee facilitators attend a Navigating Trauma Facilitator Training, normally conducted over four days in a residential setting. During these four days, new facilitators experience the programme at first hand while being trained in how to deliver it themselves. At the end of the training, the new facilitators will be assessed and authorised to deliver the programme by Bible Society and the Trauma Healing Institute.
  6. New trainee facilitators are ready to start offering support groups together. We can support you with promotional materials to help get these groups up and running, and you’ll need to acquire enough workbooks for each participant in your support groups from our Approved Partner Shop.

After your trainee facilitators have delivered two support groups, they’ll be invited to further training to calibrate their learning and experiences, and then they’ll be passed out as approved facilitators.

But the journey doesn’t end there – you can nominate more people within your church or network to help Navigating Trauma grow, building a community of churches and organisations offering Navigating Trauma in your area.
