  • want to end Bible poverty
  • believe that God can change lives today
  • want to share what God is doing with others
  • want to meet new people, develop skills and serve God in a dynamic organisation
  • have some time to spare on a regular basis
If you are based in England or Wales and would like to be involved in making the Bible heard through raising funds or through telling others about Bible Society’s cause, these are ways you can make a real difference.

There are many volunteer roles available including, but not limited to LOCAL REPRESENTATIVES, CHURCH REPRESENTATIVES and ACTION GROUP MEMBERS

LOCAL REPRESENTATIVES

Raising vital support for Bible work

We have a growing team of Local Representatives throughout England and Wales who raise financial and prayer support TO HELP END Bible poverty by sharing news and coordinating action.

Local Representatives visit and support local Action Groups, share our vision with clergy and speak on behalf of the Society at arranged meetings and church services. They are supported by the Bible Society Regional Managers on an individual basis, and normally contribute between 5 and 15 hours per month. Full training and expenses are provided.

CHURCH REPRESENTATIVES

Put Bible poverty on your Church's agenda.

As a Church Representative you will play a vital role in helping your church say ‘yes’ to fighting Bible poverty.

Our Church Representatives make sure that Bible poverty is on their church’s praying and giving agenda by sharing news, encouraging prayer and coordinating action.

You will receive regular updates and information including our supporter magazine Word In Action and Prayer Bulletin. We would also like you to organise a special service or event with the help of your church leadership to update your church members.

SPEAKERS

Join a growing team of volunteer Speakers who encourage fundraising and prayer support from churches and individuals.

Our volunteer Speakers share Bible Society’s vision with church leaders and members, speaking on our behalf at meetings and in church services. They are supported by the Regional Manager and Bible Society staff on an individual basis and full training and expenses are provided.

ACTION GROUPS

Supporting the mission of Bible Society.

There are over 300 Action Groups across England and Wales working in their local churches and communities.

Each Action Group is made up of a committee with members representing churches of different denominations. Meeting together regularly, Action Groups organise fundraising events, support the work of the Society through regular prayer and champion the cause of Bible Society among local church leaders and church treasurers.

Action Groups are a vital link between Bible Society and the church in helping to make the Bible heard.
