Our vision is for the Bible to be shaping the lives and communities of people everywhere.

Please pray with us so that all our planning and acting is guided and empowered by God’s Spirit and so that our vision will be come reality. (‘We pray for God’s power to help you do all the good things that you hope to do and that your faith makes you want to do.’ 2 Thessalonians 1.11, CEV)

Give thanks

• That God longs to show himself to people everywhere and enable them to live as the people he made them to be.
• For a Bible Society presence and ministry in over 200 countries worldwide.
• For the generosity of Bible Society supporters that enables this work to happen, and for the dedication of creative and hard-working staff in every part of the globe.
• That the Bible has power to help people of all backgrounds in every situation and at all times.

 Please pray

• Ask that the followers of Jesus everywhere will grow in knowledge and love of God and neighbour, and will shine as lights to all around (Matthew 5.16).
• For guidance so that, in fast-moving times, Bible Society can respond to new challenges and opportunities in whatever way Christ is calling us to.
• For the protection of Bible Society staff around the world. Many work in difficult and even oppressive situations. Pray for their encouragement.
• Pray for unity and efficiency in all of our mission and activities so that we can serve all our customers, supporters, partners, and audiences as effectively as we can.
• Ask that God will meet  all our needs to fulfil this great task (‘… with all his abundant wealth through Jesus Christ, my God will supply all your needs.’ Philippians 4.19, GNB).

A prayer you can use
Wonder-speaking God, you created all there is by the power of your word and renew us daily by your life-giving Spirit. We give thanks for the Scriptures that you give us the wisdom leading to salvation through Jesus Christ, and that teach, train and correct us. We pray for all involved in the translation, distribution and production of the Bible worldwide, and for all who help people understand and live by it. Lord, so shape your people by your word that we will bring life and hope to all around us through Jesus, your living Word. We ask this for your glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
