Legacies

Legacies

Help pass on God’s Word to future generations with a gift in your will to Bible Society.

It is thanks to the Christian legacies of the past that we have the Bible – and Bible Society. Through a legacy to Bible Society in your will you can continue this work, building God’s Kingdom on earth even when your earthly life is over.

More than 2.5 billion copies of the Bible have been distributed since 1815. Most have been translated, published or circulated through the Bible Society fellowship. And millions of lives have been transformed by the message within its pages.

However, there are still millions of people for whom the Scriptures are still out of reach:

  • More than 4,400 languages wait for even one book of the Bible.
  • Although a billion people can’t read, only 3 per cent of languages have an audio Bible.
  • In our own society the wisdom, inspiration and revelation of the Bible.is in danger of being lost to future generations

Your legacy gift could help translate the Bible into a new language, distribute Bibles to a community too poor to buy their own or help create a film on a biblical theme to engage people in the Bible’s message here at home.

To find out more about leaving a legacy to Bible Society, download Share your Blessings, our gift in wills guide, or complete the form below to be sent a copy.

Mrs Green's story

Mrs Green’s* legacy gift has enabled the continuation of the Fulfulde Bible revision project in Cameroon.

Almost 25% of the people of Cameroon speak Fulfulde, but the existing Bible translation has errors, outdated language and missing verses.

The new translation will allow more people to read God's Word for themselves, people like Ndjidda Salomon, who says 'I come from a pagan family.

The message I heard in church changed my objectives and all my life'.
