What would be your picture of hope?

How would your community paint something that illustrates hope for them?

That’s the challenge we have set as part of Hope 08, a year when the Church is being motivated and mobilised to reach out to communities across the UK.

Images of Hope is an art competition which churches, schools and youth groups in England and Wales are invited to run throughout 2008. The idea is to illustrate a Bible story of hope.

In thinking about the Bible and its stories, people will engage with Scripture – and discover its relevance to their lives. The competition will also bring communities together, as they think about hope and its meaning – and have fun!

We will provide churches and schools with advice on running the competition and give away Bibles as prizes! (Available to 300 competition organisers on a first-come-first-served basis).

Competition organisers may wish to hold an awards night to present the prizes or display the winning art work at an exhibition.

So don’t miss out, grab this opportunity to inspire your community with Images of Hope.
