What is the Bible - The Bible and history
Historians have not always substantiated everything that the Bible says about the ancient world.
Does the Bible have errors?
There are several views held about the factual accuracy of the Bible.
The Bible contains no errors whatsoever
This belief is that the Bible contains no mistakes on any issue, factual, religious or otherwise. Those who believe this also hold that it does not contain any contradictions.
However, some people who hold this view believe that only the original manuscripts of the Bible were error-free.

The Bible contains no errors in its religious teachings
Those holding this view insist the Bible’s religious teachings are all true. However, they are more open to the idea that it may contain historical or scientific errors as well as internal contradictions.
The Bible contains religious and factual errors but is still significantly valuable
Some are happy to admit that even some of the Bible’s religious and moral teachings are wrong. This may include its masculine language about God, the creation story in the book of Genesis, the concept of hell, as well as texts about war, slavery and sex.
Nevertheless, they do still maintain that the Bible is a valuable collection of sacred stories that can inspire people in their own searches for God.
