Her parents died and Cecilia was banned from talking to her brothers. It was a wretched existence borne out of ignorance.

Help a child know God is on their side Last year, we told you about Maria, a teenager from Nicaragua who had leukaemia and was being treated at the country’s only hospital for children with cancer. She was receiving practical help, prayer and spiritual support from Bible Society’s team of volunteers there. When we met her, she was really ill. Lying on her bed, she was weak and her hair had fallen out. At one point, she was told her cancer was terminal. Her parents were desperate. But Maria’s faith was steadfast.
