Building an internationally-recognised faith heritage centre

Step inside the Llanycil Faith Heritage Centre and discover a hidden treasure.

Located on the edge of Bala, the centre is on a site which has been a place of Christian worship for more than 1,500 years.

The site is a rich vein of cultural, faith and biblical heritage that has helped shape the identity, character and values of modern Wales.

The redundant Grade 2-listed building, St Beuno’s Church is being developed by Bible Society and aims to become an internationally-recognised heritage centre.

The new Llanycil Faith Heritage Centre will provide:

• an ongoing opportunity to celebrate Welsh cultural and spiritual heritage
• an opportunity to honour the significance of Bala and the work of Thomas Charles who was instrumental in founding Bible Society more than 200 years ago
• an educational centre to develop new and inspiring teaching resources
• a centre where, by returning to its roots, it will be able to develop Bible Society’s work in Wales and celebrate the continuing work of the charity across the world
• a contribution to the economic regeneration of the area through job creation and tourism
