Tesfaye, Ethiopia
Tesfaye, 17, used to live on the street but now lives at the Light House Centre in Ethiopia. Tesfaye and his friends listen regularly to the Proclaimer Bible provided by Bible Society and take part in Bible studies.
'My life has been changed totally. God has a plan for me. I'm trusting in him now. I don't know what's going to happen to me, but I believe that God has a plan,' he says.
Josias, Burkina Faso
Josias from Burkina Faso is one of the translators of the Bissa Lebir New Testament, since the translation has been available the churches in his area have grown by 50%. He said, 'We thank God that the New Testament is available... Suddenly, God is speaking to people in their own language.'
Elaine, Coventry
Elaine Jones is vicar of a lively and diverse parish church on the edge of Coventry. She's thrilled at the impact that a pilot of Bible Society's new H+ course is having on her congregation. It's designed to help people make more sense of the Bible and, at St Bartholomew's, it's been working!
'People are engaging with the Bible far more deeply than they have before,' she says. 'They're not just leaving it to people in the pulpit; they've found a confidence and a thirst to read, to ask questions and to understand it.'
