Creation: A Celebration

Have you ever wondered how you can share the beauty of Scripture with others in your local area? Creation: A Celebration is a mesmerising art installation available for you to host, providing you with everything you need to run a high quality Biblical art exhibition at an affordable price.

About the Work
The 42 breathtaking panels of embroidery, painting and mixed-media based on Genesis 1-2 are a luminescent piece of storytelling which took 2 years to complete. Throughout, the art is rich in detail, vitality and even humour – helping viewers to reconnect with the natural world through a blend of historic and contemporary artistry.

The work was completed in the summer of 2009, and was displayed at Bath Abbey alongside the Bath Diptychs. Following the donation of a generous benefactor, the panels were able to be framed and held in the care of Bible Society. Thanks to this benefactor and the ongoing work of Bible Society’s arts team, Sue’s work is now able to be displayed around the country as a celebration of the crossover between art, the Bible and – of course – creation.

About hosting Creation: A Celebration
1. We ask that venues host the art in a public place. As such, you might like to consider teaming up with a local public building - such as a library, a school, a museum or perhaps a stately home - where the art might be displayed in a mission-focussed context.

2. We ask that venues host the art for a period of at least one month. This avoids excess wear and tear on the artwork as it is transported from place to place, and will ensure that you as a host can plan a variety of activities and promotional pieces around the art.

3. We also ask that venues stock postcards and copies of the book Creation, which would be available for sale alongside the artwork, in order to contribute to the development of the artist's next piece of work.

The Costs
• Hosts are asked for a contribution of £500 to cover travel and insurance costs
• £100 deposit will secure your dates in the booking calendar, and the balance is due following the installation’s time in your venue.
• Hosts are also responsible for ensuring that the artwork is displayed in an appropriate and secure venue, and for providing supervision during visiting times.
