B the Word is an exciting church partnership programme where together we can enable your church to fulfil your God-given mission to impact your community, our country and God’s world.

We want to partner with you to B the Word in your church, B the Word in our culture and B the Word in our world.

In your church...

Do you long to feel more confident about the Bible? Would your house group like something new to study? Would your church also relish some material that brings the Bible to life? If so, we can help.

There’s plenty to choose from:

You’ve Got the Time

Listen to the New Testament with your church for just half an hour each day and in 40 days, you’ll have heard the story from Matthew to Revelation. There’s an easy download from the website of the Riding Lights Theatre Company recording and there are sermons and notes for small groups to help your church grow through the experience together.

We want to give you a free download because you will be enriched by your Bible listening experience. All we ask if you express your gratitude through gifts to help people around the world hear the Bible in their own language through our Faith Comes by Hearing projects.

In our culture...

Bible Society is passionately committed to making the life-changing message of the Bible known and understood in our culture. We work with those in education, politics, arts and the media to bring the Bible back into the everyday fabric of all our lives.

The divine has long been the inspiration for artists, sculptors, musicians and writers. Nothing’s changed. Today we work with artists and filmmaker’s to help bring the divine into our cinemas, art galleries and studios. Get involved at

We have an amazing Bible in Literacy scheme for primary schools which brings together RE, literacy and ICT. For further information please visit

Bible Society’s work in Parliament is about finding ways to show the value of – and need for — the Bible’s wisdom in politics. Based in the Palace of Westminster, we help politicians develop and sustain a biblical worldview in their work. We help them find a language to express their faith in political debate.

We do this remembering that that faith and politics are firmly linked. Each session of the House of Commons starts with prayer, bishops sit in the House of Lords and a verse from Psalm 127 is even inscribed on the floor of Central Lobby.

In our world...

Today there are some 146 Bible Societies working in 200 territories. And there’s a job to do, as only 438 languages have a complete Bible! As a B the Word church, your gifts and prayers will help to change all that.

In Ethiopia for instance, where roughly two-thirds of the population is illiterate, you can help to bring audio Bibles to people, bringing God’s love to life.

Demand for the Bible in China is now outstripping supply as Chinese people turn to Christianity at rate of around half a million per year. Last year alone some four million Bibles were printed and distributed in the country, with the approval of the Chinese Government, but the demand is still growing. Official figures show that 28.6 million people are Christians. Unofficial figures, which include the unregistered churches, stand at around 90 million.
